Master Budget Performance Metrics That Actually Matter

Most finance training teaches theory. We show you how to read the numbers that tell you whether your budget's working or not. Six months of focused work with people who've spent years watching budgets succeed and fail.

How We Actually Teach This

We skip the fluff and focus on what helps you make better decisions. Real budget data, honest conversations about what works, and enough practice that it becomes second nature.

Weekly Sessions

Tuesday evenings from half seven to nine. We walk through actual budget scenarios, break down what the metrics reveal, and compare notes.

  • Two instructors, twelve participants maximum
  • Screen shares of real dashboards
  • Questions encouraged, jargon discouraged

Practical Work

Between sessions, you get datasets to analyze. Budget reports from organizations that agreed to share them, with sensitive bits redacted.

  • Review feedback within three days
  • Common mistakes highlighted
  • Alternative approaches discussed

Small Group Setup

You're not watching pre-recorded lectures. It's twelve people in a room, virtual or physical, talking through problems together.

  • Everyone shares screen time
  • Peer review of approaches
  • Build contacts who understand the work

Three people who've worked with budgets long enough to know what matters and what doesn't. No academic theories here, just the stuff we wish someone had shown us fifteen years ago.

Getting Started With Us

We keep the application process straightforward. Four steps that help us figure out if this program fits what you're looking for, and helps you decide if our approach makes sense for where you're at professionally.

1

Initial Conversation

Twenty minute call where we discuss your current role and what you're hoping to learn. Not a sales pitch, just an honest chat about whether this fits.

We'll ask about your finance background, what budget challenges you're dealing with, and what you're hoping six months of focused learning might do for your work.

2

Sample Work Review

We send you a budget report to analyze. Take your time with it, there's no timer running. We want to see how you approach financial data.

This isn't about getting everything perfect. It's about understanding your current skill level so we can make sure the program content matches where you're starting from.

3

Program Details Discussion

Another call where we walk through exactly how the six months work, what commitment it requires, and answer any questions you've got.

We're upfront about the time investment needed. Two hours weekly for sessions, another three to five for practical work. If that doesn't fit your schedule right now, better to know before you start.

4

Enrollment Confirmation

If we both think it's a good fit, we sort the paperwork and get you set up for the first session. You'll receive program materials about a week before we start.

Group size is capped at twelve participants to keep discussions productive. Once spots fill, we maintain a waiting list for the next cohort starting six months later.
